The CUBE or RHU (Relief Housing Unit) is a lightweight, prefabricated shelter designed to be transported flat, be cost efficient and have a non-invasive impact on our environment. The CUBE can serve as housing in the event of a natural disaster or be used as a modern solution for storing your garden equipment. It is fabricated using a minimal structure and sheathed with a translucent UV protected insulated skin that will resist impact as well as moisture. Each CUBE is comprised of twelve, 4 foot by 8 foot panels that can be easily assembled using bolts and wing nuts. Two people can assemble the CUBE within several hours and if the CUBE requires relocation it can be disassembled or moved using a forklift.

For the past two years the CUBE has quietly sat in the high desert of Joshua Tree, California glowing each night from it’s own solar lighting system. After several bouts with vandalism, the CUBE was relocated to this historic Eichler home in Orange, California and serves as the bar for art openings and social gatherings.
